Strymon La Brea Tape Drive – Analog Tape Saturation Pedal
The Strymon La Brea Tape Drive brings the character of analog tape saturation into a highly versatile guitar pedal. Its fully analog circuit uses multi-stage tape saturation techniques to cover a broad range of tones, from subtle warmth and compression to intense drive and full-on fuzz.
The La Brea Tape Drive was inspired by Strymon's own work on the Deco, with a particular focus on capturing the dynamic behavior of tape saturation entirely within the analog signal path.
The Gain switch adjusts the operating range of the Tape Saturation control, while the Shift switch provides either a dedicated high-frequency boost or a high-frequency boost combined with additional midrange for increased fatness and clarity.
The variable Dry path is always kept in phase with the pedal's output signal. This allows you to retain additional clarity and fullness, even when using high levels of saturation.
Internally operating at 24V, the La Brea provides high headroom, a wide gain range and quiet operation. The pedal requires a 9V DC, center-negative power supply rated at 500mA.
