Strymon Oliviera - Vintage Oil Can Echo with modern stereo design
Turn back the clock and rediscover the warm, liquid echoes of true oil can delay – reimagined and refined for today’s rigs.
Strymon Olivera captures the lush, unpredictable charm of the original 1950s oil can echo units – delivering dark, warbling repeats and shimmering, reverb-like textures that ooze character.
Inspired by the Tel-Ray designs from 1959, Olivera recreates their unique mechanical process, where a rotating oil-filled can generated hauntingly organic echoes unlike any tape or digital delay.
Powered by a newly developed algorithm, Olivera nails the tonal depth and modulation quirks of the originals while adding modern reliability and flexibility.
With full stereo operation, MIDI control, JFET Class A preamps, delay spillover, and USB-C connectivity, Olivera brings vintage magic into a modern workflow.
