Korg Modwave

KORG presents the new wavetable synthesizer "modwave" just in time for the "Believe in Music Week". The modwave builds on the technology of the cult synthesizer DW-8000 and combines digital waveform tables with fat analog filters. Thanks to the lushly equipped wavetable oscillators (over 200 waveform tables with up to 64 waveforms each), a total of 12 filter types, limitless modulation possibilities, a generous polyphony and pattern sequencing, the modwave offers an unprecedented and seemingly infinite variety of sound generation. Absolutely new developments like "KAOSS Physics" and "Motion-Sequencing 2.0" are further highlights of the new wavetable synthesizer.
The new "KAOSS Physics" function as a modulation source is controllable, among other things, via the integrated X/Y pad and is based on a sphere that moves in a virtual space with different textures and can thus generate up to four modulation signals at once. A novel technology with promising dynamics. Motion Sequencing 2.0" is the consequent further development of the wave sequencing introduced by wavestate. Timing, pitch, shape and four step data sets are divided into lines whose loop positions can be set separately. These two new developments make the modwave unique and also promise a very high fun factor when creating new soundscapes.
The new aggressive basses, lead sounds or even surface sounds created in this way can be edited down to the smallest detail and adapted to your own taste using the 4 MOD knobs and many other controls on the surface of the modwave. In addition to two princely equipped wavetable oscillators, the modwave also has a sub-oscillator/noise generator. Besides the filters, other parameters can be influenced with a highly flexible modulation system, 4 controllable envelopes, 5 LFOs, 2 modulation processors, 2 note scalings as well as multi-line motion sequences and "Kaoss Physics".
The waveform tables in the modwave are collections of waveforms that run through only one cycle and have been arranged in a fixed order. The 30+ "modifiers" in modwave can affect the character of a waveform table and can be stretched, shrunk or otherwise bent with the 13 "morph" types. In A/B mode, two waveform tables can even be merged in phase. If you try out all the possibilities here, you end up with more than 230 million wavetable variants, which shows the enormous power of the synth.
The new modwave is rounded off by a free software package consisting of KORG Gadget 2 Le, the KORG Module App and the Reason Lite DAW software, to name but a few. Latest generation wavetable synthesizer.
