Due to its size, the SC207 can serve an extended spectrum in terms of low frequencies: thanks to the 6.5" SilverCone chassis used, whose glass fiber-coated membrane in a stable honeycomb structure is supported by a 1.5" voice coil and a low-distortion copper cap. Driven by a magnet system, low frequencies from 44 Hz are reproduced powerfully and dynamically.
A PWM amplifier with built-in protection circuit and a power capacity of 100 W more than adequately guarantees the supply of the SC207. With a maximum sound pressure of 106 dB (SPL @ 1m), the SC207 offers enough headroom to evaluate your recordings critically and precisely.
The SC207 is the first loudspeaker from EVE Audio to work with the Air Motion Transformer RS2, which we have further developed. A larger magnet system in the tweeter allows higher sound pressures to be reproduced.
Like every other speaker from EVE Audio, the SC207 features rear-mounted XLR and RCA inputs.
DSP / Smart Knob
All EVE Audio monitors feature high-resolution DSP electronics. A high-quality analogue/digital converter from BurrBrown (24bit/192kHz) converts the analogue input signal supplied via RCA or XLR. The DSP ensures latency-free filtering and at the same time protects tweeters, midrange and woofers from overdrive across the entire frequency range. When switched on, the volume of the monitor increases slowly in order to have enough time to reduce the source volume if the input signal is too loud.
Adjustments to the acoustic environment can be made using the rotary/push button on the front, the SMART knob with a surrounding LED ring. This knob allows you to adjust the system volume as well as set room adjustment filters (low-shelf, mid-EQ and high-shelf filters). The LED ring shows the selected settings and provides immediate information about the values. The brightness of the LED ring can be dimmed for dark studios or video applications.
High-quality Class D power amplifiers complete the system and deliver enough power for the requirements of modern music production. Selected volume and/or filter settings can be fixed independently using DIP switches on the back of the amplifier to prevent unauthorized or unintentional adjustment.
Bass reflex design
The rear-firing bass reflex channel is designed with low flow noise, as is usual with EVE Audio, and reinforces the powerful and precise bass reproduction.
Low frequencies spread omnidirectionally. The radiation of these frequencies is spherical and the wavelength is very long. For this reason, the differences in the position of the bass reflex channels when placed close to the wall are negligible.
