With the Lehle Mono Volume S you get an active and wear-free volume pedal that is lighter and smaller, but no less efficient: Equipped with the proven and constantly developed magnetic sensor VCA technology of the other Lehle Volume pedals, you can precisely control the volume of your instrument.
Since it does not have a mechanical potentiometer, the noise typical of potentiometers, endless and expensive repairs and complicated adjustment are eliminated.
Your foot only moves the magnet, while the Hall sensor measures the distance very quickly and precisely. An ARM Cortex CPU processes the sensor data into a suitable, musical curve and controls the VCA. The signal path always remains completely analog and in your hands.
Stability – electronic and mechanical.
The Lehle Mono Volume S transmits the full sound spectrum of the connected instrument or signal generator over the entire control path. The input and output impedance always remains the same, which means there is no treble attenuation like with a passive potentiometer.
The input voltage of your connected power supply (9-15 V) is rectified internally behind the power supply socket, filtered, stabilized and then transformed to 30 volt headroom. This makes it very level-stable, low in noise and achieves a total dynamic range of 120 dB. The smallest nuances of sound are audibly presented by the high-end preamp with a discrete Class A input stage - your tone becomes tangible.
There are no start-up difficulties with the Lehle Mono Volume S: Low-friction plain bearings made of a high-performance polymer gently embed the shaft in the aluminum housing and reduce any mechanical stress to zero - so it runs extremely quietly and evenly. Using an adjusting screw, you can very precisely adjust the movement of the pedal from feather-light to vintage car.
In addition to the output, there is also a second, also buffered direct out available: without negatively affecting the sound, everything from a tuner to a DAW to a second amp can be supplied.
Zero to one hundred or boost à la carte? The Lehle Mono Volume S has a boost that can give you up to +12 dB more gain with a little force in the toe position. When and how? You can call up the presets using a button: 0 dB, +5 dB or +10 dB. The final preset is the chef's recommendation and remains an audiophile surprise.
The Lehle Mono Volume S can be calibrated, programmed and updated via the USB-C socket - it also sends MIDI data to the DAW or amp sim of your choice.
Compared to the Lehle Mono Volume, Lehle was able to reduce the weight by 50% and the size by 35% - while maintaining the same stability and more dynamics. It is even 2 cm flatter, but the control path remains just as comfortable and long as in the larger models.
This is the LEHLE MONO VOLUME S: Louder – but smaller.
