If you've ever watched professional battle DJs using mixers like the DJM-S11, you'll recognize the layout of the DJM-S5. Who hasn't always wanted to add drama to their sets? Thanks to the DJM-S5's large effect levers (which are the same size as those on the flagship DJM-S11), you can control up to 57 different effects in Serato DJ Pro (including expansion packs for a fee). Favorites can be saved in the two banks to access them at any time. The four performance pads in each channel offer different pad modes such as hot cue, sampler and scratch bank. The scratch bank is perfect for quickly playing back samples or even entire tracks with a single tap.
The popular MAGVEL FADER PRO crossfader provides the perfect scratch feeling. This is ensured by the "Feeling Adjust" function, which allows you to set the "weight" and control resistance to your own taste. You can rely on the robust construction of the fader, as the axis to which the controls are attached is very rigid in the vertical direction, so that it can withstand even heavy scratch techniques.
With the two large effect levers, you can control up to 57 effects in Serato DJ Pro (including expansion packs for a fee). The levers are the same size as those on the flagship DJM-S11. To switch the effect on or off, you either hold them down or release them again to switch the effect on or off. To keep your hands free to browse and scratch tracks while the effect is still being applied, for example, there is a lock function. Two banks are available for saving effects so that you can quickly access your favorites.
The performance pads with their 13 pad modes, including hot cue and sampler, invite creative and experimental performances. Each deck has four 20.6 mm x 20.6 mm performance pads to trigger samples and find new ways to 'remix' tracks live and add texture to the music.
The DJM-S5 is the first mixer from Pioneer DJ to be powered via a USB connection to a computer. This opens up additional flexibility, as those using portable turntables suddenly have the freedom to practice and perform literally anywhere you can carry your decks: In the garden, in a park or even on the beach. The DJM-S5 also works as a standalone mixer, so you can play music from a variety of sources such as analog records. And although the mixer is powered via USB, it delivers a wide and clear sound that brings out the best in all genres of music, from hip-hop and house to R&B and rock.
