The 013 FET combines audio precision and first-class transient response. Its ability to capture precise detail makes it just as suitable for drum overheads as it is for recording acoustic guitars, pianos, choral ensembles, strings and orchestras.
The 013 series combines the best elements of classic SDC designs with a character of its own. Both the TUBE and FET versions capture the sound with high precision and give it a warm characteristic. The smooth highs and accuracy in the midrange allow the recording of complex, transient-rich instruments and sounds that fill the frequency spectrum and dynamic range in a warm, pleasing way.
The 013 series is available in both FET and tube circuitry. Both have identical capsules and form factors. Although they have a similar, natural sound profile, they differ in some details: the transistor circuit of the 013 FET captures transients with a slightly faster response; the 013 TUBE has a softer top end. The built-in S13 capsule always ensures detailed highs, warm mids and balanced bass.
