Tannoy Ltd. is a British manufacturer of public address systems and loudspeakers. 

The company was founded under the name Tulsmere Manufacturing Company 1926 in London by Guy Fountain. The word Tannoy, after which the company later named itself, arose from the words Tantalum and Alloy, which make reference to the tantalum alloy, which has used the company in their electric rectifiers.
