Mosfet Transistor Boost

The Jackson Audio Amp Mode circuit is based on a Mosfet transistor which is a very popular type of transistor to use for boost circuits because it has many “amp like” characteristics when it clips etc. Use the Amp Mode as a preamp for your overall signal, a boost to push an overdrive pedal even further into saturation, or as a post overdrive boost to clarify and push your guitar forward in the mix. The Amp Mode features 9-18V operation, true bypass switching and a tiny footprint featuring top mounted jacks.

The Jackson Audio Belle Starr is the result of a several months-long collaboration between Jackson Audio and Drew Shirley from the band Switchfoot. If you're familiar with Drew's rig, he has always run super small, low-wattage amps, and run them wide-open to get his signature overdriven sound. The Belle Starr was designed to recreate these tones. The overdrive range on the Belle Starr is so evenly spread out across the range of the gain control that it goes from absolutely clean to medium gain with no unusual jumps in the dynamic response.
