We could not detect any wear and tear on this instrument, aside from only some minimal scratches in the clearcoat on the body surface and the pickguard (only visible upon a thorough inspection). - Finish: Black Burst- a special transparent finish highlighting the beautiful top wood structure underneath. With clear pickguard and chrome hardware - a very classy looking instrument!
- Body: Poplar - this wood is often preferred because of its excellent resonance characteristics. With creme binding and an amazing flame maple top.
- Neck: Best flame maple, roasted. Back of the neck unpainted, hand oiled and waxed for a smooth satin feel. Thicker neck profile as preferred by Joe Bonamassa. Music Man guitars are particularly so famous among musicians, because of the outstanding quality of their necks. The neck is a pleasure to grab, feels perfect to your hand and plays just fantastic! Bolt-on neck construction - this enables a fast, precise attack response, while retaining a full, "fat" tone.
- Scale: 25.5" - Standard.
- Fretboard: Rosewood, with dot inlays.
- Frets: 22, high profile, wide - a perfect fretjob, another famous feature on Music Man USA guitars.
- Nut: 41,3 mm.
- Headstock: Reversed, black, with the Steve Morse signature.
- Tuners: Schaller M-6 IND locking tuners - placed in the compact 4+2 design typical for Music Man guitars. Often requested by professional artists, these tuners are a must-have for the demanding musician. The key to their design is eliminating wraps around the string post, which can cause string slippage and tuning problems. Simply loosen the thumbwheel located on the back, feed the string through the post, lock the thumbwheel tight, cut off the remaining string, tune up and you’re finished – better tuning stability and no more restringing nightmares.
- Bridge: Music Man Steve Morse Custom Stoptail bridge - for a very long sustain.
- Pickups: 2x Custom DiMarzio Steve Morse Humbuckers (bridge and neck), and 1x Custom DiMarzio Steve Morse single coil in the middle position. The latter is not available separately. It was developed by DiMarzio in co-operation with Steve Morse exclusively for this guitar model and is only factory-installed in Music Man Steve Morse guitars.
- Electronics: 1x volume, 1x tone, 5-way switch (see pictures).
