The SPL Auto-Dynamic De-Esser uses a unique technology to reduce sibiliance in a mix or on vocal tracks. The result is a neutral, unobtrusive and extremely effective de-essing process. Even at high S-reduction values the de-essing has a negligible effect on the character and timbre of the voice. It monitors the S-frequency spectrum and automatically detects the sibilant frequencies. The de-ess bandwidth is set so narrowly around the range of the sibilance that neighbouring frequencies remain unaffected. The detected sibiliance is mixed back into the main signal phase-inverted so that only the S-sounds are cancelled. The S-reduction control sets the intensity of the S-reduction.

The new DMC stereo mastering console is engineered from the ground-up making it not only more flexible with better specs than SPL’s previous console, but also more ergonomic and sized to fit in all types of studio furniture. The 3RU console has 4 stereo inputs and 4 stereo sources, with 2 stereo recording outputs, as well as 3 stereo and 2 mono speaker outputs that can be expanded with the new MC16 controller. It operates on the same unequaled 120V DC audio rail like each of the other SPL Mastering Series processors.

The SPL Frontliner has all tools on board to record vocals and instruments in perfect quality: it merges a preamp, a de-esser, an EQ, a compressor and tube saturation. Thanks to it's individual analog I/Os, all these powerful, hi-end analog processors can be use not only while recording but also during mixing. Frontliner is therefore not reduced to a front-end device. Especially DAW based studios can integrate high-grade analog processing at any stage of the audio production process.

The SPL Gemini is the first M/S Mastering Processor in 120V technology. With Gemini, M/S processing enters the SPL Mastering series. Gemini is an M/S Encoder and Decoder. Mid signals (voice, snare, bass …) can clearly be seperated from side signals (guitar, spatial sounds, cymbals …) and can individually be processed. When working on the sum signal, M/S coding often is the best way to specifically get access to individual elements within a mix.

The SPL GoldMike Mk2 combines Class-A transistor with a tube preamplifier. The transistor stage is composed of single transistors in a Class A design and works in series with a tube preamplification stage that provides 6dB to 18dB of tube gain for subtle to more obvious saturation effects.

The SPL Hermes revolutionizes Mastering. Now it is possible to route an audio signal through up to eight dual-channel processors in any order. User definable presets allow the comparison of complex processing chains with just a flip of a button. In addition, Hermes has two integrated parallel mix stages that work with any of the eight processors allowing for comparison of two compressors with different parallel mix settings. The parallel mix stages are stored with the processing chains.
